Unlike the pic above it's been cloudy and raining all day today. I guess I've been hit with the be careful what you ask for concept. Though it doesn't make for a good holiday weekend, we do so need the rain.
What with it raining all day today and this being the first full weekend of college football, guess what I did today. Yep....watched my fair share football games today. Ok ok so I'm still watching football. Truth be known I've got the Ohio State-Washington game on TV and since my K-State team wasn't televised I've got that game on the radio. Damn I better be careful I wouldn't want to over-dose on football on the first weekend.
Not much else to say right now, so I guess I'll go back to watching and listening to the games. Later
So yeah it was such an exciting night last night that I was out taking pictures of an approaching storm. Actually as I said before it has been so long since we have seen any measurable rainfall seeing a storm nearing was kind of exciting. And we did get an inch of rain out of it. Certainly no drought breaker, but every little bit helps.
Another thing, the picture of the storm is very symbolic of the things I've been seeing around the blog world lately. More on that later, when I can figure out how to write about it without having to stoop so low as to resort to name calling, or calling into question anyone's anatomical make-up or ancestral background. I've witnessed enough of that already these last couple of days.
Oh and though the harassment got so bad that she pulled her blog down, the Profane Princess link will remain in my list in hopes she may return sometime. That's it for now. Later
So I was right I was back up just before eight. And no I'm not really into sleep deprivation, its just that there's certain things I need to get done which requires me being up by then.
On a happier note, I woke to the bright flash of lightening followed by the customary clap of thunder and it wasn't long after that the rain began to fall. Normally waking to a stormy rainy day is no reason to celebrate, unless of course you are a fish or duck that is, but we really really need this rain.
Ok so now to get busy, though I'm not sure what yet. But I do believe a short nap might be in store for this afternoon. Oh, and things are looking better today on the medical front. That's it for now. Later.
Here it is the wee hours of the morning again and I'm still up. Only this time it's not just my sitting up goofing off that has me up this late. I'm trying to wind down after spending four hours in the emergency room with my mom. We just got back a little over an hour ago. We finally headed up to the ER because she must have picked up some kind of virus thing that's going around and couldn't keep anything down the last two days. This also threw her system out of whack and sent her blood pressure sky-rocketing. Anyhow they ended up giving her some kind of magical pill to settle her stomach down and then some meds to bring her BP down and four hours later we were leaving there. So I was sitting here doing some reading trying to wind down.
I probably should go to bed and get some rest. Yeah, because if I'm rested then maybe I could begin to comprehend what I see happening around me, around this country, the world and yes, even this beloved thing known as the internet. Maybe I can begin to understand the abuse that we hear of daily, as well as the desire to attack and fight that is taking over this world we live in. And also why this desire to attack has once again spilled over from the real world into the blog world.
I say this after having just visited Melissa's site and reading that there was a handful of assholes who had taken it upon themselves to try and tear her and her site down by lobbing uncalled for insults at her through her comments section. I have witnessed this type of shit before and still do not understand why these less then humanoids feel the need to do this. And it appears these idiots have harassed her to the point where she may give up blogging all together and that would be a shame. For anyone with half a brain can see that this site of her's is something she has put a lot of time and effort into creating. All I can say is hang in there Melissa, don't let these fuckers win. Don't let them take from you something that means what it does to you and that you've worked so hard to create.
Like I said I've seen this type of shit before. If you want to see how it is is I feel about this then go here and go down to my June 18th post. That pretty much says it all.
Ok enough said for now, I'm headed off to bed. It's late, or early depending how you want to look at it, and I'll still probably be back up by eight. Later
I've said it before, but I'll say it again, if this heat and drought don't break soon we will become the newest desert region of the country. Either that or we will be into the dust bowl days of old. My yard is so dry that it has had cracks in it for weeks now. And with every day that passes those cracks threaten to turn into canyons. As you can see from the pic above even the trees are starting to shed their leaves. What with the lawns dead or dying out and the leaves already falling you would swear we were in the middle of Autumn. That is till you walk outside and get smacked in the face with the 103 degree temperatures. They say there's a chance for some rain Friday, sure hope so.
Took a little longer to post today because I had to reach within and give myself a good shaking. I started to let some stress I've been under start to drag down into a hole. So yeah, letting stress turn into depression doesn't help to solve anything. I still haven't solved what's been on my mind but I'm back heading in the right direction. That's it for now. Later
I am about ready to quit reading any newspapers or watching any news on TV. I mean is there any good news out there anymore? After reading and watching the news this morning I was left with some interesting questions. Questions such as...if the major combat operations are really over why is it that there have been more Americans killed in Iraq since that declaration was made by the president back in May? How can we afford to rebuild an entire country when we can't even keep post offices and fire stations open in our own cities. But most importantly are there people that are really this STUPID. It's a story about an 11 day old infant that was left in a van in 100 degree weather while the mother and another daughter went into a store. The two of them claimed that they forgot they had the infant with them at the time. Pleeease, you've got to be kidding me. How does a mother of a new born forget the baby is with them??
Ahh tis a grand grand world we live in. But i refuse to believe that it's all bad out there. That's it for now. Later
I woke up this morning after what I thought was a good nights sleep with a headache. Damn what ever happened to waking up rested, refreshed and ready to take on the world? That's not the way it was for me, at least not today. I don't know maybe I just slept wrong. But then I sit and wonder just how does one sleep wrong? Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you just lay down close your eyes and go to sleep. How can you do that wrong?
Oh well the tylenol is starting to work and I need to get some things done. That's it for now. Later.
The teams hit the field (and each other), the game's been played and the results are in. With a final score of 42-28 K-State comes away with it's thirteenth season opening victory. Though the score looked lopsided the game was really a better game then the final score indicated. In fact my hats off to the Cal Bears who could have easily folded and headed for the hills after the first running play against them went for 53 yards. But they hung in there and at times kept the game interesting.
As a matter of fact KK I think your Cal Bears have some surprises in store for the Pac-10 this year.
That's it for now, back to the stresses of real life living. Later.
It's here, the day college football fans across the country have been waiting for since the end of last years championship game. Yes, the first day of the 2003 season is upon us starting with the Black Coach's Association game between Kansas State and Cal tonight.
So yeah break out the grill, bust open the coolers and let's get this tailgate party going. What's that you say....we can't tailgate cause we aren't at the game. Oh ok, well then hummm let's see, I know, break out the grill, bust open the coolers, drag the TV out into the backyard and let's get this tailgate party going. Well I tried, but due to the sweltering heat I've been out voted and the TV will stay in the house where we will watch the game. However we will still break out the grill and bust open the coolers. So back to the party, only one more thing left to say...........
Yesterday while I was out doing the application thing, I decided to go ahead and just take a drive around. Even though it was one of the hottest days of the summer it was still nice to get out. I started out heading for Abilene and was gonna wander around and take some pic's of old Abilene town, a part of the town made up to look like it did back in the cowboy days. But I got such a late start that half way there I changed my mind and never made it that far. Maybe next time.
Instead of taking the interstate I took an old highway which means going through a bunch of towns. One such town was that of Chapman.
You will notice the sign that brings the speed limit down to 30mph and first thought one would have is that it's for safety purposes. It's not, the reason they lower the speed so much is the town is so tiny that if you went through there at normal speed they are afraid you wouldn't see the town at all. And hey, they are right. Another thing though, no town in Kansas is to small that it can't have it's own golf course. That' what that arrow in the first sign is pointing the direction to.
And oh yeah, there's like thousands of these small towns sprinkled across Kansas, so if you're in a hurry stick to the interstate. Later
I ended my last post suggesting a party at the lake, which sounded like a good idea at the time. That is until I checked my comments this morning and saw the suggestion that Melissa made. She said party at the ocean and I admit that does sound a hell of a lot better then a lake anytime. Only problem with that is I'd have to go like 1000 miles East or west in order to get to an ocean.
That got me to thinking, oh ok maybe dreaming, of the travel I'd like to do. There is so much I'd like to do and see. I want to see the East coast and the Atlantic ocean. The big city of New York where True and Sterling and Jamie call home. Then out West to California where Anti rules the area. And even though I've been there once already I'd like to make a return trip North of the border to Canada, homeland of Raymi and Bing. Why stop there I also want to hop across the ocean to that tropical paradise of Hawaii, Kool Keith's Ultrablognetic stomping grounds.
Ok so there you have my travel wish-list and quite a list it is. Actually there are a lot more I could add to the list but this will do for a start. I could sit here most of the day listing places I'd like to see, but I've got things I need to be getting done.
Now all I have to do is like win the lottery or have some very rich unknown relative leave me a small fortune so I can fulfill my travel dreams. Till then it'll remain just what it is.....a wish-list. That's it for now. Later.
Ok though I like the warmer weather more then the colder weather I believe we have reached the enough is enough point. You guessed it, another hotter then hell day out there, only now we're breaking records. Right now at a little after six it is still 107 degrees with the heat index at 111 degrees. I will survive, like I said it is better then having a minus sign in front of the temperature. What I do know is I'm not going to like going through the roof after opening my next light bill.
Why is it that every trip I make to the grocery store has to turn into a patience testing adventure. And todays trip to the store was no different. It started out smoothly enough and I was able to get in a pick out all that I needed without delay. The fun started when I was ready to check out. I head up to the registers and of course it seems like everyone else in the store has decided to check out at the same time. Top that off with the fact that there is only two out of ten registers open. Just short of flipping a coin I choose a register. Actually I had a reason for choosing the one I did, this is the register where the cigarettes were and I needed to get a carton. Well it turns out the person working at this register would end up giving slow a whole new meaning. The topper of it all was just as the lady in front of me was getting ready to pay for her stuff, she pulls out a wad of coupons big enough that if they had been ten dollar bills I could have retired. Well this really messed up this genius checker, who I guess couldn't figure out all she had to do was scan them in. Instead she's making this lady pull all the stuff out of bags to be sure she had the things the coupon said she was supposed to have. I mean come on, don't they train these people, all you have to do is scan the shit and the computer will tell if it's right. geesh!!! Before it was all done she even had to call someone over from customer service....twice. Finally after all of this and thirty minutes later it's my turn....yay. Five minutes after that I'm heading for the door. phew. But I'm happy to say I kept a civil tongue in my head and didn't say what I was so tempted. Ok, maybe I didn't say anything, but if you could read facial expressions ahh yeah they said a lot. And there you have it, another of my many great adventures to the grocery store. I really can't wait for the next trip. Or can I?
It's another melt the asphalt off the road scorcher out there again today. This is the fifth day in a row the temp's have been 100 plus. With all these hot days it's hard to believe that summer, my favorite season is about to come to an end shortly. It wont be long now before the long, and yes hot days will be giving way to Fall. However the approaching end of my favorite season signals the approach of my favorite sports seson.....football. I'm not as into sports as I used to be but I've always liked football. College football is what I like most, but I will watch some pro football as well. And the excitement is even higher going into the season this year because my team the Kansas State Wildcats have a good chance at winning the national championship this year.
Why get excited excited about something like this? Well because not that long ago my team was the worst team to ever stink err I mean grace a football field. There were years where they would be lucky to win one game. In fact back in the day we would still bet on them, however what we would bet on was how bad they would get beat that week.
About ten years ago they hired a new coach who proceeded to produce the most amazing turn around in sports history. And now they usually finish in the top ten at the end of the season. Yeah so that's why we get excited about football season here. And it's only three more days till the first game. That's it for now. Later
It was a sad day today indeed, with the news of yet another bombing in
Iraq. I normally don't want to talk about the war on this blog, but I'm going to climb up on my soapbox for a moment.
Today while watching the report of this bombing I sensed a hint of surprise by the reporter that this was actually a UN office building that got bombed. The only thing I want to say is I don't think something like this should ever surprise us. As long as we are present over there no one is safe or immune from attack by the terrorists, who appear to be more abundant then we gave them credit for. And we should be ready for it (an attack) to come at anytime against anyone the terrorists don't feel belong there. Whether we belong there or not is a whole other story
that I won't get into here.
With that said and I hope I made some kind of sense, I shall now climb off this here soapbox before I fall off. And you can go back to looking forward to my future posts being about my simple, mundane life as I see and live it. That's it for now. Later.
Ever have one of those days? Thought I'd take a break and make a post, but I can't for the life of me think of anything to write about. It's not been what one would call a note worthy day here thus far. Unless you count doing some house cleaning chores and watching the mercury rise to make this another ungodly hot day again. And to top it off I just realized i'm even out of pic's to post.
So yeah, I guess this is kind of an I'm still alive and kicking post. Hope you all are having a grand day. More later if I can get the wheels to spinning. That's it for now. Later.
I was sitting around yesterday in the midst of my job hunt and I got to thinking about the job I had at the rock quarry. The job I held for years was in the demolitions department, that is the one I had the most experience at and liked the most. Yes I got a blast out of blowing things up.....sorry couldn't resist that one. Well not blowing up just anything, but rather rock ledges, such as this one.
I was also involved with site preparation, or the drilling of the holes needed to put the explosives down to blast the ledge. This was one job most of the other workers avoided like the plague because it was the loudest and dirtiest job there. I looked at that as an advantage, since it was the loudest and dirtiest job no-one would come up and fuck with you, not even the bosses.
Also this job was one of the coldest in the winter and hottest in the summer because you were out in the elements all the time. But after a while you learn to adapt and get by.
If I liked doing this job so well, why did I leave it and why did I leave the rock quarry all together. I left the blasting job because the new company that bought us out felt my years of experience in blasting would be better suited as a truck driver, while keeping a guy as the blaster who couldn't even pass the test for a blaster's permit. I know go figure, right. I eventually left the company all together because I consider myself a team player, you know work together and get the job done. And that wasn't what i was finding out there, these people would spend most of their time worrying that the next guy would get one up on them that it was amazing that any work got done at all. It was almost like getting caught in a fifteen way tug-of-war. I have kept in touch with a couple of people who still work there and they say it's gotten worse. That is why even though I'm looking for another job I don't want to go rushing back out there.
Below is a picture of a rock ledge with the explosives laid out on it ready to be loaded. Click on the pic to see the final results of all this work.
You've seen me describe where I live as a sleepy little town. Well here ya go, a picture of our bustling main street on a Sunday, or for that matter most every evening.
Hope everyones weekend is going good. That's it for now. Later
It's been a lazy start to a lazy weekend. In other words I didn't do much of anything today. I did watch the baseball game on TV this afternoon, where I watched my Kansas City Royal's proceed to get their asses royally kicked. Ok, so I only made it to like the seventh inning before I reached the point where I couldn't take it any more. It was then I decided to go out for a drive just to get out of the house for a while. Mostly just drove around the countryside with no real destination in mind, stopping at times to take a picture here and there. I didn't have much luck finding many photo-ops.
I guess if you really wanted excitement this weekend the northeast part of the country would have been the place to be. Though I would imagine the people living there probably have some additional descriptive words they might use for the blackout they went through. I will say I am impressed at how the people affected by the blackout handled themselves during what had to be some very trying times. If you want to read some good posts about the night the lights went out then check out True and Sterling at Brand Trueboy and Jamie at The Know Universe. But hey, as good as these two sites are you should already be checking them out.
Alright so I've run out of things to say, besides the Chief's game is about to start so......That's it for now. Later.
Not much to talk about this afternoon, I've just been looking through ads on-line and in the paper again. Hopefully some interviews will be following soon. Between that and fighting off another headache it's been a rather bland day. I've decided to maybe brave the heat tomorrow and go out wandering around to snap a few more pic's, besides getting out and about will do me some good. That's it for now.
Yesterday I let something happen I usually try hard to guard against, I let something that was bothering me show and affect what I was doing. I don't like doing that, I never have. Through the years I have developed the ability to ball that shit up and stuff it neatly deep within myself. Very seldom do I like to let my problems show. More later.
So I'm back from my quick road trip. Really what it was was another trip to take my mom to a doctors appointment, and since it involved a specialist which our tiny hamlet has not, we were headed out of town for this appointment. It took all of about two hours or so to make the 130 mile round trip, doc's appointment included.
This trip was not without its fun though. The fun came in trying to locate the doctor's office. I had been there once before and therefore was confident in finding my way back this time. Now I am tooling down the interstate pretty as you please to the exit I need and that's when I saw it. There in the middle of the road that I had to take was a blockade with a sign square in the middle of it saying road closed. Ok so now what do I do, its like quick on to plan B, but wait, there is no plan B. How was I to know they would be working on the very road I would need to take. Well it was back onto the interstate thinking I would take the next exit, and although Topeka is a fairly nice sized city how hard could it be to find my way back over to where I needed to be. Yeah, I found out and it was nothing but fun, going up one road, then down another, ok straight this time. It was like we were winding our way through a maze like a half starved rat seeking that piece of cheese at the other end. Fifteen turns and about twenty minutes later then it should have taken we found our way to the doctor's office. And I might add just in time for the appointment, I was beginning to worry we might end up being to late and they would tell us we would have to reschedule the appointment. That would have royally sucked indeed. The one plus this time was that the actual appointment didn't last that long. In fact I didn't even have enough time to work up a good nicotine fit before the appointment was over and we were back on the highway headed to the home haciendas.
Oh yeah, if it seemed like I was a little out of sorts in my previous post, I was. But that's another good thing about a long drive......plenty of thinking time. But here's a little tip, when you are trying to think yourself out of a funk during a drive, don't do so while riding with someone who insists on listening to classic country music. It sure as hell doesn't help. haha That's it for now. Later.
Spent some time checking out my computer yesterday afternoon after hearing about this new worm virus called Blaster that's attacking computers now. Bad thing about this worm is that it is attacking windows users, especially windows NT and XP. The reason I got concerned was about a week or two ago while I was on-line my computer flashed up a window saying that an error had occurred involving win32 and had to be restarted. It also said I had one minute to save my work and log off before the automatic shutdown. So I decided to play it safe and be sure this damned thing hadn't gotten into my system. First I made sure I had all the current patch's from microsoft and then I went on Symantec's website and downloaded the free removal tool they have. So anyhow I ran the tool and it came back and told me that the Blaster worm was not detected on my system. PHEW!!!!
According to the news this is supposed to be one of the worst worms designed and launched, and that it had already gotten into many many systems, corporate and home. I also think this might explain some of the strange things I've noticed going on while surfing the net these last couple of days.
Had to take a break form going through newspaper ads and application gathering this morning to drive my mom to an appointment she had. And it would have been a welcome break had it not meant going to the radiology department at the hospital. One question I have is why do they even bother giving you an appointment? Rarely is that you get in at the time they set for your appointment. So I knew ahead of time I'd have at least an hour to an hour and a half to kill waiting for her to finish. And it turns out I was right, so there I sat waiting. Finally I could take it no more and got up and went outside, not only so I could smoke a cigarette, but hell there's only so much thumbing through old magazines and the weather channel that one can take. Makes me wonder if they aren't getting kickbacks from the head doc's to create and send patients their way.
Let's see what did I do on this wonderful Monday. Humm, oh yeah, started hunting for a job. A few months ago I gave up the rock quarry to try my hand at being self-employed. Anyhow I put up an on-line store, which was getting hits just wasn't producing any sales. Therefore my funds are starting to become somewhat depleted. So yeah, I've started to look for a job, although I will still work at getting my own business off the ground. Actually I probably should have started to look sooner but I just wasn't ready to admit I failed at my attempt at self-employment. I'm kind of stubborn that way, but then who the hell likes to admit to something like that. At least I can say I tried, besides it got me away from that efing rock quarry before it drove me insane. And no, that place is not on the top of my job search list. Think I'll end here before I start rambling on worse then an old jalopy rolling down a back country road. Later.
Have you ever wished you could just stand up and call time out on life? Be able to trot over to the sidelines with life at a standstill or at least slowed down to a manageable pace. I sometimes wish I could, that way maybe I could look out and determine why it is that everything I'm trying to accomplish leads me to another locked door. Or every avenue I turn down seems to lead to another dead end. It just seems like lately I've been running with the accelerator jammed to the floor while stuck in an oil slick......getting nowhere fast.
Made a discovery this evening, and that is I'm not stuck to this chair and there is life beyond this house. I'm not really the type who likes to go out a lot, in fact lately I have found myself not wanting to go anywhere. So this evening I went out to eat with my brother and his wife and my sister and her husband. I should say they were there to eat, I had already eaten earlier. I might have waited to eat, but truth be known I believe my invite was an afterthought. I almost decided not to go because of that, but I thought what the hell I need to get out. Besides I figured if they didn't want me there so they could talk about me what better way to screw up their plans then to be right in the midst of them. Not that they would ever do that. So anyhow the highlight of the evening was when the waitress had a bowl of shrimp sauce slip from her hand and fall to the table, sending shrimp sauce flying in all directions. I was lucky, it was on the other end of the table from me so I was spared the red drenching. Others weren't so lucky. (Why is it I don't seem to have my camera when these photo ops come up.) The waitress was very apologetic, promptly explaining that she wasn't really a waitress and that she was only doing this because the regular waitresses had not shown up for work. Guess it just wasn't her day.
Ultrablognetic is a very good site that people should check out. Not only because he had nice things to say about me but because it is a very good and interesting site. Even though he claims by his own words to talk about "random crap" his posts are put together in such a way as to capture and hold your interest from start to finish. But then I don't think I am saying anything that a lot of people don't already know. That's it for now. Later
I was sleeping really good this morning, and I mean deeeeep sleep. In fact if the phone hadn't rang I'd probably still be asleep. Maybe something is trying to send me a message that I need to improve my sleeping habits. I do have a tendency to stay up later then I should and then be back up early again. I've never been a big fan of lengthy sleep. This trend started years ago when I was working at the rock quarry and only got one day off a week, and I just couldn't see sleeping that day away. Like I've said before, sleep is the most necessary waste of time we have in our lives.
I've added a new site to my daily reads list..... Profane Princess. I found my way to this cool site from a link on Anti's site, and really liked what I saw. At any rate it's a cool site well worth checking out.
I've goofed off enough, it's time to get going and get something accomplished. Headed out to get some much needed yard work done. Just hope I don't waste away in the heat out there.
And I don't have a coin, what the hell do I do now!
I should know better then to wait till three in the morning to try and post something. I've tried two or three times now only to erase it. So I think I'll just head to bed and try again tomorrow after I've gotten some rest.
I haven't written much lately, not because I don't want to, I just can't come up with anything to write right now.
I know that the urge for a change is tugging at me. I want to get away, to travel a little, hell maybe even make a complete move to somewhere new. Actually I have been seriously considering making a move. My sister seems to think I should pack up and move to Phoenix where she lives. And right now that doesn't sound like a half bad idea. Except it won't be as simple as just packing and moving. There will be a few little things that will need to be accomplished first, such as selling the house. Humm seems as though I've got some planning and work ahead of me. More details later as I figure them out. Right now I think I'll go sit on the porch and listen to the summer song of the locusts and then maybe head to bed early for a change. That's it for now. Later.
Is it just me or does anyone else think this summer is just flying by. But of course it's going to fly by since it's my favorite season. It seems like just last week that baseball season was starting and here I sit watching a football game tonight. And with the start of the NFL preseason that usually signifies the mid-point of summer. Next thing you know the snow will soon be falling. That's a scary thought.
A couple of days ago I wrote about my trip to the airport and that I usually set the cruise control to the speed limit and head down the road not worrying about the law. Well it wasn't always that way. Recently I read a post by Sterling where she was talking about a recent road trip they were on and got pulled over for speeding. Her post reminded of the incident that kind of broke me of speeding.
A few of us had planned a week long vacation trip, which included driving from Kansas to Arizona to San Diego to Las Vegas and back to Kansas again. The highlight of the trip of course was to be our stop in Vegas. After driving all day on the first leg of the trip we decided to get a hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico and rest up before heading out again in the morning.
Bright and early we were up and on the road again, with me behind the wheel. After about an hour or so we hit the Arizona border and were cruising right along, enjoying the desert scenery which was quite a change from the Kansas farmland we were used to seeing.
Right about then is when it happened. I looked in the mirror and a ways back I thought I could make out another car, but being so far back I didn't think nothing of it at the time. Less then a minute later I looked again and the car was significantly closer and this got my attention. That's when I saw it, the unmistakable sight of red and blue lights flashing. I glanced down at the speedometer and I don't know if it was the smooth ride of the Lincoln or just my taking in the scenery, but I was going just over 100 miles per hour. And if I remember right the speed limit was 80 mph.
An intense sinking feeling suddenly overtook me, and with a muttered oh shit I eased out of the accelerator and waited for this highway patrolman to catch up with me, I just knew I was dead meat. I cringed as I realized that soon all my Vegas money was going to belong to the state of Arizona. Not only that but usually if you are clocked at over 100 miles per hour it normally garners you an invite to learn first hand what the inside of their local jail is like.
Those flashing lights are getting closer and closer and my heart was about to pound its way right out of my chest. Finally he was right behind me and I was preparing to pull over. As I started to ease over to the right the patrol car suddenly shifts over into the passing lane and zooms past me.
I don't know what happened or where he was heading but he wasn't after me. I let out a giant sigh of relief, sitting there realizing just how lucky I had been. In fact if I had been a cat I would have used up 8.9999 lives right then. I didn't know whether to head to Vegas right then to see if my luck would continue or skip Vegas altogether figuring I had used up all my luck for this and all future lifetimes.
It was at that very moment that I decided I wasn't going to take the chance of ruining a trip, or anything else for that matter, just to go a little faster. That's it for now. Later.
